How SPKD was born

Growing up we had nothing but ambitions, dreams that we could only pray became a reality.

Life as a young black man in London on a council estate was tough, opportunities were few and far between. This is where I developed my love for football.

After school and weekends were consumed of competing with friends and kids on the block. This was our way of staying out of trouble. These were the happiest days of my childhood and ones I’ll always look back on fondly.

As I grew older I began to realise my love and passion for the sport along with dedication could really take me somewhere. This fuelled a fire in me.

After many trials and tribulations, perseverance and commitment I signed for Watford FC at the age of 16. My life was about to change.

This journey has taken me on some of the highest highs that I could have only dreamt about as a boy, and of course as with anything came some of the lowest lows.

After my knee injury in 2015 and 15 months out from football, I suddenly for the first time in years had a lot of spare time on my hands.

Along with football I have also always enjoyed being creative with fashion and design and a whole new passion was about to begin. This is when SPKD was born.
